Business Builder can operate on a peer-to-peer network,
but in this case the server machine that hosts the database MUST be running
Windows XP Home Edition as a MINIMUM.

Opportunistic Locking
Windows NT, 2000, 2003, and Small Business Servicer 2003 servers, and
Windows XP Professional will by default have Opportunistic Locking enabled
on them.
"Opportunistic locking allows clients to lock files and locally cache information without
the risk of another user changing the file. This increases performance for many file operations
but may decrease performance in other operations because the server that grants the opportunistic
lock must manage the breaking of that lock when another user requests access to the file."
Due to Business Builder operating using a file-based database, the opportunistic locking can cause
problems with the file locking mechanisms that Business Builder uses to share data from a single
database to multiple users.
Therefore, it needs to be disabled.

Virus Scanning
Where virus scanning software is installed on workstations running Business Builder, it is
recommended that the scanning software is configured so that the following files are
NOT scanned:
- .DB files
- .PX files
- .XG* files
- .YG* files
These are the database files that store all Business Builder data and are not at risk from
viruses. If your virus scanner is left to scan these files, this can slow down the operation
of Business Builder as a file will be scanned each time it is opened.
